kelan Johnson, known as TazDaRealist, is a Houston-based artist who started his music career in 2011. He has opened for notable artists like J Dawg, Z-Ro, BlueFace, KenTheMan, NLE Choppa, and Stunna 4 Vegas. Known for his sharp punchlines and high-energy delivery, Taz draws influence from legends like Nipsey Hussle, NBA Youngboy, and Z-Ro. Despite being independent and without a manager, he’s collaborated with artists such as Istarrah, Nessacary, MrWiredUp, and Trilly Polk.
Taz is also passionate about giving back to his community. He’s been involved with the TeddiTuesdayPodcast & Foundation and is a strong advocate for the trans community. His single “Rewind This” became a hit on TikTok, gaining support from the global trans community and earning him a spot on a mural in New York City.
With four albums—Murk Season, Social Disruption, Big Dawg Talk, and T4—his music reflects his journey and growth, and they’re available on all streaming platforms. Taz has made history as the first Black trans man to perform at Houston’s 46th annual Pride and has graced the stage at events like BQAF in Houston and BIPOC Pride in NEW York
