When people ask me 'where I'm from?' I often tell them "my mama." Being so inspired by her struggles, resilience, wit and love I strive to be a man she would've respected when she was younger. Sometimes I forget my mom was a conscious young woman despite the optics of her life then. I'm reminded of her consciousness by the simple uttering of my name 'Raekwon.'
