My name is Joshua Hurst, my artist name is DJThriller. I am a 20 year old rapper, producer, and artist promoter that was born in raised in Ladera Heights California, and I am currently living in Northridge, I have a major in TV Production at California State University, Northridge. My goal as an independent artist is to find a footing in this game,  to bring a new wave to a genre that has not been able to grasp on to the culture since the ealry 2010s. I attempt to do so by bringing relatable lyricsism with an old school feel to my beats. As I take inspiration from boom bap, neo soul, and comtemptorary jazz to make a whole new flow of modern alternative hip hop music. It doesn’t have to show in the beats I create for myself/others, but it’s also shows in the way that I try to build a community within the music I create
