Born George Alexander Alzate in Providence, Rhode Island, and raised between the vibrant streets of Miami and the close-knit community of Central Falls, RI, G. Alejo is a name that pulses with rhythm, soul, and authenticity. The son of proud Colombian parents, G. Alejo grew up immersed in the rich melodies of salsa, cumbia, and vallenato, where his love for Latin music took root and became inseparable from his identity.
With over five years singing in school choirs and commanding stages as the lead singer of local salsa bands across Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New York (2006–2012), G. Alejo earned a reputation for his powerful voice and charismatic presence. However, life’s trials led him to step away from the spotlight to build a successful career in real estate.
In 2024, after enduring the devastating loss of his brother, G. Alejo found his way back to his first love: music. Channeling grief into purpose, his return marks the rebirth of a Latin artist with a mission to honor his roots and captivate audiences worldwide.
