Role Overview:

The Government Contracts Specialist will support the Government Contracts Manager in executing our government contracting initiatives. This role involves assisting in the management of the procurement process, including market research, proposal development, and the fulfillment of awarded contracts. The specialist will also leverage their marketing expertise to enhance our project deliverables and engagement with government clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Opportunity Research: Assist in identifying federal contract opportunities on SAM.gov that align with our capabilities and strategic goals.
  • Support Proposal Development: Help in the preparation, review, and submission of proposals, ensuring they meet all solicitation requirements and are compelling to stakeholders.
  • Subcontractor and Vendor Liaison: Support the sourcing and negotiation with subcontractors or employees to fulfill project requirements effectively.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Utilize marketing skills to enhance the presentation and delivery of project outcomes to government clients.
  • Financial Assistance: Aid in developing pricing strategies and budget proposals, incorporating financial analysis and subcontractor quotes.
  • Relationship Support: Help build and maintain relationships with procurement officers and key government stakeholders to ensure visibility and consideration.
  • Project Assistance: Support the management of awarded contracts, ensuring compliance with milestones and deliverables.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Government Contracting Knowledge: Experience with various aspects of government contracting, including opportunity research and proposal management.
  • Marketing Acumen: Background in marketing, capable of effectively promoting services and managing client relationships within a government contracting context.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to support a senior manager and work cooperatively with other team members.
  • Communication Proficiency: Strong written and verbal communication skills, essential for proposal development and stakeholder engagement.
  • Analytical Skills: Competence in financial and strategic analysis to support pricing and budgeting decisions.
  • Detail-Oriented: Attentiveness to detail, crucial for navigating complex government solicitation requirements.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Law, or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience in government contracting and marketing may be considered in lieu of formal education.
